Nikoletta Geronti’s Pension

Ideally situated, our guesthouse is only five minutes’ walk from Apollonia, a small town with its shops, banks, bus stop and taxi rank, right in the middle of the island. Numerous hiking trails start from Apollonia, literally on our doorstep.
Comfortably sitting on our paved veranda with its vine harbour, you will enjoy the enchanting view of the sea and the islands to the East, as well as the traditional settlements of Apollonia, Kato Petali, Exambela and Katavati.

Sifnos

Apollonia

Like a Cycladic Princess, the whitewashed, well-proportioned small town of Apollonia lies over three hills, right in the centre of Sifnos. It only takes a few minutes to reach from the port of Kamares, along an uphill road. All the roads leading to the main sites and beaches of the island depart from Apollonia.
At night, it is a special treat and a must to wander around its alleyways, with shops of all kinds and a wide range of bars and tavernas. It is also the place where most of the lively nightlife of the island goes on.

Sights

Sifnos belongs to the Western Cyclades. It is located between Kimolos, Serifos, Paros and Milos. The island maintains the traditions and customs.

In most churches, it is held at least once a year festivals called “the banks of love”. If you are lucky enough to attend such an event, don’t forget to taste the traditional plates of the island. Revithada, spaghetti with meat, cod with potatoes and plenty of local wine; always accompanied by traditional music, played on violin and lute.

The paths of Sifnos are also an element worth of noticing, especially for those who love discovering the island with all their senses. The visitor can enjoy the variety of colors and smells of the local flora, while wandering between small chapels and ancient monuments.

The pictures que village of Ano Petali is between Apollonia and Artemonas. It is built on a small hill and this gives it the privilege of the unique view to the east. You can enjoy the magnificent view from the courtyard of St. John as well as from the terrace of your room.

The paved path will take you in just 5 minutes on foot to Apollonia with several shops, banks, pharmacies, bus stops and taxis.

Walk through the alleys and discover the beautiful village of Artemonas with old mansions and traditional white houses. Don’t miss the glikopoleia!
